Have you ever eaten a meal that just didn’t sit right? Maybe it was that time you gorged on sushi during a business trip to Seattle and felt like a protein brick took up residence in your gut. (Been there? Just me?)
Now, imagine emotions as food. Just like food, emotions need to be processed and digested, otherwise, they can leave you feeling heavy, stuck, and downright uncomfortable. While it’s easier to recognize the aftermath of a questionable meal than an unresolved emotion, the discomfort of unprocessed feelings can linger much longer and cloud your thinking.

When you eat, your body gets to work, breaking down what you’ve consumed and extracting the nutrients it needs to function. Any leftovers? Your body has a system for those too. But emotions? They’re trickier. You can’t point to them like you would a slice of pizza and say, “That’s the problem right there.” They don’t come with a digestion manual or a nutrition label, yet they pile up in our mental and emotional “stomach,” weighing us down, interfering with clear thinking, and impacting productivity.
