The Boundary That Changed Everything

Feb 25, 2025

Ever notice how a simple white line on the road keeps everyone in their lane?

The other day, I was out on my road bike (my happy place) when the thin strip of paint separating me from cars flying past caught my attention in a new way. It’s not a physical barrier—just a boundary—but it makes all the difference. On either side, there’s an unspoken understanding of responsibilities. No extra communication is needed. With this simple yet essential boundary in place, expectations are clear, everyone stays safe, and we all keep moving forward.

Boundaries at work do the same thing.

One woman in my Three Pillars of Leadership program learned this firsthand. She hesitated to set a boundary with her boss, fearing it would make her look incapable. But when she finally spoke up, the response surprised her—her boss was relieved. What she had assumed was a weakness actually built trust. And the result? More freedom, less stress, and more control over her workload.

So let me ask you:

What’s one boundary you need to set? What’s one that could change everything for you?

Hit reply—I’d love to hear your thoughts.

📢 CALL TO ACTION: If setting boundaries feels hard, that’s normal. But just like leadership, confidence, and executive presence—it’s a skill you can build. Practice makes progress. Give it a shot today.
